USTDA to Host Three Reverse Trade Missions Focused on Energy Storage

​ARLINGTON, Va. - The U.S. Trade and Development Agency will host three reverse trade missions this spring designed to introduce delegates from high-growth emerging markets to U.S. providers of energy storage solutions.

The delegates include public and private sector officials from Jordan, South Africa, Brazil, Colombia, India, the Philippines, Turkey and Vietnam. These countries are planning to make significant investments in energy storage solutions in order to provide affordable, reliable power to consumers and to integrate renewable energy onto their grids. The delegates aim to implement energy storage projects, purchase energy storage solutions and learn more about financing mechanisms and policies that support energy storage deployment.

"These will be our first reverse trade missions focused exclusively on energy storage, an emerging sector that we believe represents tremendous opportunities for both our overseas and U.S. partners."

The reverse trade missions will include:

• A dozen high-level delegates from Jordan, including Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ibrahim Saif, who will visit Washington, DC, Los Angeles, CA and San Francisco, CA from March 14-18, 2016;
• A delegation from South Africa that will travel to San Francisco, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Charlotte, NC and Washington, DC from April 18-29, 2016 and participate in a Business Briefing in Long Beach, CA on April 21; and
• A global delegation that will visit Charlotte, NC, San Francisco, CA and Sacramento, CA from April 24 to May 4, 2016. The delegates are senior officials from Brazil, Colombia, India, the Philippines, Turkey and Vietnam.

The latter two delegations will attend the Energy Storage Association's 26th Annual Conference and Expo in Charlotte, NC, where industry-leading U.S. firms will showcase their proven energy storage technologies.
