Mr. Peter Watson, International Business Development Manager of Armstrong Engineering Associates Inc., wrote about WTCGP's Ron Drozd's "invaluable" advice to Armstrong's President about Japanese business etiquette, language, etc. Mr. Peter Watson comments as follows: "WTCGP’s Ron Drozd met with Armstrong’s President, International Business Development and Business System managers in West Chester, PA prior to them visiting Tokyo. The purpose of the meeting was specifically to address cultural and business etiquette. Armstrong’s President and Business Systems Manager met with major Japanese EPC Contractors, including MHI, JGC, and Toyo. All of these have offices in Houston and we wanted to reinforce our contacts with the Japan Offices. Mr. Drozd’s advice on language, business card formats etc. proved invaluable and the Japanese were delighted by the visits. Thanks to the WTCGP we can enter a country for the first time and feel confident that we will avoid faux pas. We have significant business from JCG Houston valued over $ 1 million but believe face to face in-country meetings with specifiers, end users, and EPC contractors to be far the best way to cement relations with Japan and US subsidiaries. Further business is expected as a result of these contracts but the timing, as always with long lead items, is not determinable as we have “lead to sale” cycles of anywhere from 1 to 8 years. Our thanks again to Ron Drozd and the WTCGP!" Comments are closed.
