Join Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain for Luncheon and Remarks on the US-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement
H.E. Houda Ezra Nonoo, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain

On Tuesday, June 9th, the Philadelphia Global Interdependence Center (GIC) and the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia (WTCGP) will host H.E. Houda Ezra Nonoo, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States at Lacroix at the Rittenhouse (210 West Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia). 

 

GIC and WTCGP members will enjoy a private meet and greet with Ambassador Nonoo from 11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m., followed by the program and luncheon starting at 12:00 noon.

 

The U.S. and Bahrain have long worked closely on economic, financial, political, defense and security matters. The US-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement was signed in 2004 as the culmination of a one hundred year old friendship between the two nations. The US and Bahrain are partners in the United Nations, the WTO, and other political and economic forums aimed at promoting peace and prosperity throughout the world. The FTA further facilitates a trade relationship that grew 46 percent from 1999 to 2003 and saw $509 million in American merchandise exported to Bahrain in 2003.

7th Annual World Trade Centers Day Dinner
Rosemary Turner, United Parcel Service (UPS), accepts the 2009 Global Business Leadership Award

Each spring, World Trade Centers around the globe hold events to recognize a shared mission of peace and prosperity through international trade. The WTCGP held its 2009 World Trade Centers Day Dinner at the Union League in Center City, Philadelphia on May 13th, marking the seventh occasion of this signature event where the WTCGP recognizes individuals and companies that contribute to the economic health of the region through their international business activities.

This year we honored LCR Electronics and Holt Logistics as WTCGP Member Companies of the Year and Rosemary Turner, vice president and chief operating officer, Metro Philadelphia Division of United Parcel Service (UPS) with the 2009 Global Business Leadership Award.

The WTCGP also welcomed incoming president, Linda Conlin, and bid a final farewell to outgoing president, Joanna Savvides.
