For all area companies looking to expand into Latin America, the WTCGP, in partnership with the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, will lead a business development trade mission to Panama and Colombia from June 6th – 13th. The mission will give companies the opportunity to meet with prospective business partners, explore new opportunities for their products and services, and gain first hand experience in these emerging markets.
Both Colombia and Panama present opportunities. Colombia boasts one of the most stable economies in the region (GDP growth rate of 8.2% in 2007) and is quickly moving up the ranks of U.S. export partners (currently 29th). Panama is considered to be at the crossroads of trade for the Americas, and the U.S. is the country’s most important trade partner. Industry sectors experiencing growth include electric power generation, energy, health care services, port services, land development, construction, transportation, water distribution and purification, telecommunications and tourism.
The trade mission’s itinerary includes one-on-one appointments (a minimum of three in each country) with pre-screened companies, as well as cultural tours. The participation fee for the mission is $600 per city (Panama City, Panama and Bogotá and Medellín, Colombia). You may join us in all three cities or choose the locations that best suit your needs. Companies unable to travel may choose to be represented by the WTCGP.
