PortaScience's Booth at the National Agricultural Fieldays

There are about 4 million people in New Zealand and an equal number of cows. In fact, New Zealand is one of the top five dairy exporters in the world.

So it’s no surprise that PortaScience Corporation of Moorestown selected New Zealand’s National Agricultural Fieldays show last summer to launch its new PortaSCC milk test in New Zealand and Australia. The show is New Zealand’s premier agribusiness event, with 115,000 visitors and 1000 exhibitors.

PortaScience’s trip was funded in part from a grant from the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia. Darby McChesney represented PortaScience at the show. He said it was a “tremendous success. We developed close relations with our new distributor and generated lots of interest in the product.” PortaSCC is the first affordable, highly accurate on-farm test for sub-clinical mastitis screening. The new test brings early detection to help lessen the leading cause of financial loss to milk producers and provides test results in minutes instead of days.
