In light of recent political changes in Poland, such as the country’s historic entry into the European on May 1, 2004 and the September 2005 national elections won by a coalition of pro-American parties, the WTCGP’s latest Breakfast Around the Region focused on “Business Opportunities in Poland.” Zbigniew Kubacki, Minister Counselor of the Polish Embassy, and other speakers outlined several compelling factors that make Poland an attractive partner for U.S. businesses.

In an effort to increase support for export sales by regional food companies, the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia is collaborating with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture on several food marketing expositions. In November the WTCGP participated with numerous Pennsylvania companies in the 8th Annual America's Food and Beverage Show in Miami, FL.

Pioneer Research of Moorestown, NJ, produces a line of marine and outdoor gear, including underwater cameras for use by deep sea divers. Its latest lightweight model made the cover of the Time magazine, with half page coverage inside, as one of the “most amazing inventions of 2005.” This great publicity resulted in television coverage on CNN with Bjorn Harms, Vice President of Pioneer, demonstrating its use in a fish tank, as well as coverage on other programs.
Fall 2005 was a great time for the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia. We would not have achieved such success had it not been for our fall 2005 interns. Two of our four interns are finishing their internship at the WTCGP this month.
