Close to fifty people were in attendance on October 20th to hear a presentation "International Trade: Assessing Country Risk" by Nina Covrljan, Vice President and International Trade Banking Consultant with Sovereign Bank’s Global Solutions Group. Nina shared her in-depth knowledge of cross-border financing, both from the perspective of small and medium sized US businesses as well as international financial institutions. She discussed the key factors of foreign country risk assessment, bank risk assessment, and risk pricing factors. She addressed common challenges faced by US exporters when offering credit terms and proposed several risk mitigating options.

An interactive question and answer period followed the presentation. The program continued with a networking session. Attendees were then able to speak with Ms. Covrljan directly about issues they face when weighing international business decisions.
