In Panama the IDEC delegation met with Guillermo Ronderos, president of the WTC in Panama; representatives of the Ministry of Trade, the Panamian Chamber of Commerce. Eduardo Lugo and the Panama Canal Authority. Mission participants toured the Panama Canal to observe some of the extensive projects underway as part of the Panama Canal’s ultimate upgrade program. The mission visited property developers and toured many planned residential and tourist projects.

Other industry sector meetings were held with the Chamber of Construction; COPISA; and the Real Estate Association. Mission members also had the opportunity to appear on a live business talk show on KW Radio in Panama. As result of this show, we were contacted by Panama Real Estate Group (PAEG) and the mission met with them to discuss future projects.

There are many multi-million dollar projects not only in the Panama Canal Zone itself, but outside the Canal area including: port development and commercial, residential, and resort properties. The WTCGP will continue to provide follow-up assistance to IDEC members who want to pursue these opportunities in Panama.
