at a one-on-one meeting on March 15, 2007
On March 15, 2007 WTCGP members and clients interested in pursuing international business opportunities in Latin America met with two Pennsylvania Authorized Trade Representative (ATRs), Fabio Yamada (Brazil) and Sergio Kalm (Chile). WTCGP international trade specialists organized 24 one-on-one meetings with PA ATRs for Pennsylvania companies, representing such diverse industry sectors as IT software; education; engineering; medical equipment and services; steel; and drilling equipment. Prior to individual meetings, interested companies attended a breakfast seminar entitled “Latin America: Economic and Business Outlook” which was organized by the Chilean American Chamber of Commerce and held at the Pyramid Club in Philadelphia. The program featured representatives from the Embassies of Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Venezuela; the Inter-American Development Bank; and the State of Pennsylvania Authorized Trade Representatives (ATR) from Brazil and Chile.
On March 29, 2007, Supriya Kanetkar, the PA ATR from India met one-on-one with our members and clients at the WTCGP's new offices in Center City Philadelphia. Among the 18 companies taking advantage of the opportunity to learn about this lucrative market were representatives of such sectors as IT software, bio-pharma, chemical, medical, steel, instrumentation, beverage, footwear, and power generation.
