Nearly 50 business executives attended the latest breakfast briefing “Hong Kong: A Fulcrum for Business Success in Asia” held on March 25, 2008 in Mount Laurel, NJ. Attendees from Pennsylvania and New Jersey companies enjoyed presentations by Louis Ho of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Rose Lee Askin of Citizens Bank, Vincent Capone of Reed Smith, and Tom DeMarino of IKEA Wholesale Inc.

WTCA Reciprocity at Work: WTCGP and WTC Poznan Trade Mission Cooperation

On March 30 – April 4, 2008, Pennsylvania companies, accompanied by Joanna Savvides, president of the WTCGP, and Joseph Burke, senior international program manager, PA DCED, participated in the trade mission to Poland and the Czech Republic. Held as part of the WTCGP Trade with Emerging Eastern European program, the mission included an intensive program of business meetings in Poznan and Warsaw, Poland, and Prague in the Czech Republic. While the U.S. Commercial Service organized one-on-one business appointments in Warsaw and Prague, it was the cooperation between the WTCGP and WTC Poznan that laid a successful start for the whole trip.

Exploring Hedging Transactions

The second event of the WTCGP Trade Tactics Mentoring Breakfasts series was attended by 20 regional business leaders. "Succeeding in Latin America: Getting Paid, Foreign Exchange” was held on April 15, 2008, and began with a brief overview of the Trade Tactic of the Day by Thomas E. Graf, Assistant Vice President, Foreign Exchange Desk, Sovereign Bank.
