Reciprocity: a Practical Approach to International Trade Cooperation
The World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia has used this concept of reciprocity from a mere practical approach, first with the World Trade Center Panama during WTCGP’s trade mission to Panama, Costa Rica and Guatemala in September 2006. Presently we are using the same concept with German Villalobos and his team of professionals at the World Trade Center Bogota (Colombia) and with Professor Nelson Pilosof, President of WTC Montevideo (Uruguay) in the planning, and execution of our trade mission to Colombia, Argentina and Uruguay to be held from February 25 – March 3, 2007.
The pre-screening and pre-qualifying of over 70 business meetings for the companies participating in this mission require strong coordination and the use of research instruments to verify the credit worthiness, the track record and good business practices of international business counterparts. In addition, the well coordinated and synchronized mission agenda, which includes business meetings, networking events, etc., provides a structured process in which reciprocity acquires a meaningful and valuable approach to international trade relations and collaboration.
All three World Trade Centers involved in the upcoming trade mission are strong believers of reciprocity as one of the principles of the World Trade Centers Association. Reciprocity and collaboration produces results which benefit international business in line with the vision of the WTCGP.
