Joanna Savvides Speaks at Estate Qatar 2007 in Doha
Held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Doha, the Qatar Property Investment Forum, Estate Qatar 2007, served as an overview of the country’s rising economy and future growth. Due to major developments in the oil and gas industries, Qatar has experienced a surge in population, a 42.5% increase since 1997, which led to an enormous influx of international businesses. In addition, foreigners gained the right to buy property in the nation after a 2004 policy change. Two years later, the real estate growth reached 17.7% and contributed to 5.4% of Qatar’s GDP. Consequently, the high demand for property has caused a shortage in the real estate market, as well as an 83% increase in Doha rent over the past two years.
Thus, when Joanna Savvides spoke at the event in Qatar, her presentation “Marketing Real Estate Projects” centered on the WTCGP’s International Design and Engineering Consortium, a trade program that assists Philadelphia engineering, architecture, and construction management companies in finding projects worldwide. With the soaring demand for property in Qatar, the potential and opportunities for our participating companies are endless.
