Opening the Russian Market for Local Companies

The Russian economy is in a period of rapid expansion. This market of 143 million consumers presents tremendous opportunities for US exporters; however Pennsylvania and New Jersey companies accounted for just 4.4% of $5.2 billion U.S. exports to this country from January through September 2007. "This market has high potential for our companies," said Joanna Savvides, president of the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia (WTCGP), "and we are poised to assist them in discovering new opportunities, building new partnerships and finding new customers in this major Eastern European country."

Joanna Savvides Speaks at Estate Qatar 2007 in Doha

Organized by the World Trade Center Qatar, Estate Qatar 2007 focused on the recent property boom and rising residential trends of the nation. From November 26-27, 2007, over 300 attendees and officials had the opportunity to hear the opinions of industry experts, including Joanna Savvides, president of the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia, who spoke about exporting engineering and architectural services from our region and targeting the booming Middle Eastern real estate market.

A Lesson in Risk Management for China Club Members

The first CEOs’ China Operations Club meeting of 2008 focused on the risks of the Chinese market, especially regarding the differences between the American and Chinese banking systems.
