WORLD TRADE CENTERS DAY DINNER HONORS CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE REGION'S ECONOMIC GROWTH AND GLOBAL SUCCESS

PHILADELPHIA – The World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia (WTCGP) announces award recipients who will be honored at the ninth annual World Trade Centers Day Dinner & Awards. The event will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue with a reception beginning at 6:00 p.m.
“This dinner not only celebrates the contributions of all World Trade Centers globally, but it also recognizes the real successes of the WTCGP in growing exports from the region to the rest of the world,” said Tony Bartolomeo, Chairman of the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia. The 2011 honorees are:
2011 Global Business Leadership Award – Organization Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) – PIDC provides financing programs and real estate products to business and non-profit clients in all neighborhoods of Philadelphia. PIDC’s central strategy is to implement economic development initiatives which stimulate jobs, investment and production throughout Philadelphia. PIDC is receiving the Global Business Leadership Award for their visionary leadership in the development of The Navy Yard as a center and innovative model to attract world-class companies and investment.
2011 Global Business Leadership Award – Individual Thomas G. Morr, President and Chief Executive Officer of Select Greater Philadelphia – Select Greater Philadelphia is an economic development marketing organization dedicated to promoting the Greater Philadelphia region as a premier business location. Tom is being recognized for his success in promoting the Greater Philadelphia Region as an international business destination. Since 2003, Select Greater Philadelphia has worked with Greater Philadelphia’s business community to recruit and welcome 50 companies that will create more than 3,600 jobs and will increase the region’s gross regional product by more than $600 million.
2011 Member Company of the Year Weston Solutions, Inc. – Weston Solutions, Inc., is a leader in environmental, sustainable, and energy solutions, property redevelopment, and design/build construction. Weston Solutions, Inc. is being recognized for its global success and its partnership with the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia in expanding in key international markets.
