Mr. Paul Geist, President, attended World Trade PIW for the first time in September 2014 to introduce his company to the visiting Authorized Trade Representatives from around the globe. The meeting and conversation with the India Representative, Ms. Supriya Kanetkar, prompted Paul to make an inquiry to one of HFP's customers who has a relationship with an automotive manufacturer in India. As a result, Huntingdon Fiberglass Products has now a secured new business in India. HFP started shipping product to India in February and will make ongoing monthly shipments. HFP expects the relationship to extend well beyond 2015. Superfit, Inc. (Philadelphia) is the exclusive manufacturer of a specialty ring for the jewelry industry. Gena AlulIs, CEO, has commented as follows: “Superfit, Inc. is proud to be associated with the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia and grateful for their support. As a small business, grant programs can make all the difference in providing access to new market which in turn is building revenues in the city of Philadelphia and creating new jobs. With the assistance of a PA Global Access Program (GAP) grant, Superfit Inc. has established a presence at the Inhorgenta Fair in Munich, Germany. Superfit partnered with an associate in Sweden to form a European Headquarters in order to distribute product, offer warranty and repair services and otherwise improve the logistical issues presented by working with individual accounts in the EU from America. By the close of 2014 Superfit realized a 32% growth in European export sales from the previous year from 10 countries. Superfit representatives have just returned from a robust 2015 show and based on the number of new accounts that were opened, sales increases to the EU by year end is projected at 40%. Using the same business model, Superfit has plans for a headquarters in Canada by the end of 2015.” Mr. Peter Watson, International Business Development Manager of Armstrong Engineering Associates Inc., wrote about WTCGP's Ron Drozd's "invaluable" advice to Armstrong's President about Japanese business etiquette, language, etc. Mr. Peter Watson comments as follows: "WTCGP’s Ron Drozd met with Armstrong’s President, International Business Development and Business System managers in West Chester, PA prior to them visiting Tokyo. The purpose of the meeting was specifically to address cultural and business etiquette. Armstrong’s President and Business Systems Manager met with major Japanese EPC Contractors, including MHI, JGC, and Toyo. All of these have offices in Houston and we wanted to reinforce our contacts with the Japan Offices. Mr. Drozd’s advice on language, business card formats etc. proved invaluable and the Japanese were delighted by the visits. Thanks to the WTCGP we can enter a country for the first time and feel confident that we will avoid faux pas. We have significant business from JCG Houston valued over $ 1 million but believe face to face in-country meetings with specifiers, end users, and EPC contractors to be far the best way to cement relations with Japan and US subsidiaries. Further business is expected as a result of these contracts but the timing, as always with long lead items, is not determinable as we have “lead to sale” cycles of anywhere from 1 to 8 years. Our thanks again to Ron Drozd and the WTCGP!" Babish Soni, CEO of International Student Network (ISN) in Philadelphia recently commented on his company’s recent successful trade mission to India in February 2015.
