2016 Global Business Conference Recap

PHILADELPHIA, Pa - On Thursday, March 3, 2016, the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia and Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business co-hosted the 13th Annual Global Business Conference (GBC). This year’s standing-room-only event – attended by more than 200 executives, government officials, academic leaders and others - focused on “A Changing World Market: Challenges and Opportunities.”
 
The conference featured an interview-style keynote with Governor Jon Huntsman, former U.S. Ambassador to China and Singapore and former U.S. Trade Ambassador, in conversation with Gillian Tett, U.S. Managing Editor of the Financial Times, in which Governor Huntsman shared his experience-based views on global markets and how he predicts the Chinese economy will affect markets worldwide.

• Roundtable moderated by Harold T. Epps, Director of Commerce of the City of Philadelphia, in which C-Suite Executives from Dunmore Corporation, Ramboll Environ and Philadelphia International Medicine shared their experiences and lessons learned at the helm of companies engaged in global trade in today’s market
• Panel discussion, moderated by Matt Cabrey, Executive Director of Select Greater Philadelphia, on “The Markets to Watch: Growth Opportunities for a World in Transition,” in which the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the President and CEO of the US-ASEAN Business Council, and the Head of Trade and NAFTA Office of the Ministry of the Economy of Mexico offered insights on growing markets – including India, Mexico and the ASEAN region – and advice on breaking into those markets
