Q: What is the WTCGP “Trade Tactics Mentoring Breakfasts” (Trade Tactics) program?
A: “Trade Tactics Mentoring Breakfasts” is a unique program developed by the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia (WTCGP) for both businesses new to exporting, and for companies already doing business internationally, but interested in expanding into new overseas markets. Whatever your level of experience, we have a team of experts to assist you! “Trade Tactics Mentoring Breakfasts” is a venue to learn from more experienced WTCGP members, WTCGP Advisory Council, supporters and consultants, as they guide you to international trade success. This series will introduce you to the extensive network of support that exists for exporters in the Greater Philadelphia region.
Q: Who is eligible to participate in the program?
A: Companies located in the five-county region in the Southeastern Pennsylvania and eleven counties in Southern New Jersey are eligible to participate in the “Trade Tactics Mentoring Breakfasts” program.
Q: What is the format of the meetings?
A: Each “Trade Tactics Mentoring Breakfast” will start with a 20-minute overview of the “Trade Tactic of the Day,” followed by a 10-minute Q&A session. After the overview presentation, each participant will be matched with an expert for a one-on-one “mentoring session.” A dialogue may extend beyond the “Trade Tactic of the Day.” The expert will be prepared to answer the questions you submitted to the WTCGP upon registration for the event. If time permits, you will be able to ask all other burning questions.
Q: How can I register for the program?
A: Please download the program registration form, fill it out and return it to our office at:
WTCGP (Attn: Trade Tactics), Two Penn Center, 1500 John F. Kennedy Blvd. Suite 305, Philadelphia, PA 19103. You can also register for individual meetings online through the WTCGP Event Calendar and email your questions to dmelnichenko at wtcphila dot org. To allow enough time to find the perfect expert for your needs, please send us your questions at least two weeks in advance.
Q: How can I participate in this program as a mentor?
A: If you would like to volunteer your time and share your knowledge and experience with participating companies, please fill out mentor registration form. Mentors commit to one or more of the five meetings depending upon their availability and area of expertise. Prior to your mentorship meetings, you will receive a profile of your assigned company and its question within your area of expertise. The depth and breadth of questions asked will vary, as participating companies will have different levels of experience in exporting.
The mentoring sessions are free-form and may extend beyond discussion of a previously submitted question. Questions or issues outside your expertise may be referred to other sources or other mentor for further assistance.
