New Export Sales for Harold Beck and Sons, Inc. in Bucks County
Client Profile

Harold Beck and Sons, Inc. in Newtown, PA (Bucks County) has been in business since 1936. The company designs and manufactures a complete line of extremely high quality electric actuators for industrial dampers and valves used in the process controls for a wide range of industries including electric power generation (coal), cement, mining, glass, steel and aluminum manufacturing. What began in the steel mills of Pittsburgh and Cleveland, now includes installations with Beck control drives in more than 70 countries around the world.

The Experience

The WTCGP has been working closely with Bob Kritzer, Manager International Markets at Harold Beck and Sons, Inc., for a number of years. In conjunction with a team of international trade partners including: Pennsylvania OIBD, USEAC, the U.S. Department of Commerce and several other regional partners the WTCGP assisted Harold Beck to expand their export sales.

Kritzer reported recently that Harold Beck was currently processing a significant new export order from a major India cement plant. This new order was directly a result of Bob Kritzer's trip to India in February 2005 for the Power Gen and Central Asia 2005 Trade Show and Conference in New Delhi.

Beck's export sales are also increasing in Mexico and Australia, where the PA Overseas offices also helped find new sales reps for Harold Beck recently in 2003 and 2004, and for which the Temple SBDC has supplied market research. Other future export markets where the WTCGP Team and its partners are currently providing international trade services/assistance to Harold Beck include Canada, Europe, South Korea, Brazil, etc.
