Trade Tactics Mentoring Breakfast "Succeeding in Latin America: Getting Paid, Foreign Exchange" - April 15, 2008

The second event of the WTCGP Trade Tactics Mentoring Breakfasts series was attended by 20 regional business leaders. "Succeeding in Latin America: Getting Paid, Foreign Exchange” was held on April 15, 2008, and began with a brief overview of the Trade Tactic of the Day by Thomas E. Graf, Assistant Vice President, Foreign Exchange Desk, Sovereign Bank. He explained the differences between convertible and non-convertible currencies and focused on the obstacles that the latter can present to companies doing business overseas. Mr. Graf illustrated the possible effect of exchange rate fluctuations on margins. Following the presentation, seminar’s attendees took advantage of the unique roundtable format of the WTCGP Trade Tactics Mentoring Breakfast program to discuss common issues and challenges of doing business internationally.
